LISTEN to What You Hate Most to Learn What Need You’d Love Fulfilled

Tell me what you loveSo often when we hear the words, “I hate ____  “, we are listening to someone who is trying to push away something or someone, trying to separate themselves.  It`s a way to step way back far enough from it so they can critic it or judge it.

Instead though – I challenge you to immediately think of “the unmet need“ in the words you hear.   For every statement of what someone doesn’t want (or hates) – behind it is an unmet neet crying to be met.

When you are saying what you hate – secretly, you are expressing what you would love

I happen to notice today’s trending Twitter Topics here in Canada, “#YouKnowWhatIHateTheMost” and if you take a look – you can notice,  with each statement of what is hated – there is – unsaid – something they would love more of.

The woman who hates being interrupted has a need to be heard.   The women who need to be seen, heard, understood, loved, trusted, respected and to be successful.    They things they hate – tell a story of what they most need to be at their personal best.

What each lovely soul is crying for – is the fulfillment of their unmet needs.  In some cases, right there in the words are what would actually bring them to a state of LOVE.

“You deserve to have your needs met, they are important part of your personal leadership development“

As a women in leadership role, it`s the mindful listening for other`s needs that will help you be in most service.  It is in articulating the unmet needs and then finding ways to get them met.

In a self leadership perspective, if you yourself have needs that have not yet been met – meet them.  They are critical to your thrival.  Just because you may have ignored your own needs, doesn’t mean they do not exist. Your greatest opportunity to affect change in others – is to lead  the way first.  Helping other’s to get their needs met is one of the greatest gifts you can give.

Learn to quickly identify your own unmet needs – and to quickly find the resources to fill them.   This will give you the most resourceful capacity to be able to serve yourself, your family, your organization, your community or the world.
