How you put your personal development plan out into realistic action – depends a lot how you enjoy learning. Lists and normal goal setting forms work well for those who have an auditory preference – but what if that is not your preferred learning style?
I have a blended preferred learning style so I love gantt charts and excel planning sheets and still I need some visual aids to keep me inspired and in momentum. Here are some of the enjoyable tools I am using this year….
The Exploding Box (Make your own, or have a crafter make one for you – etsy.com and search for exploding box)
A Really Big Wall Calendar ( I got this educational wall calendar from papersource.com)
A software program that let’s you collect ideas and information easily (and in a fun visual way)
I use the personal brain for keeping track of ideas I have for example… ( www.thebrain.com)
and when I have a little relaxation time… I doodle
Take a little time to think about – what allows you to put a plan in place that inspires you. You love visual things and visual learning – make a visual plan.
I encourage you to take the time to make a plan that fits your personal learning and working style. It will help you visualize get super clear on your next right steps. And that is what a plan is all about – knowing the next right step to take. Remember, It may be a combination of tools – or it may be just one. A key is to use them.
Do a little research and find your own right way to make your 2012 plan. There is lot’s out there.
